Monday and Wednesday Clubs
We have two social clubs that run at Waverley Hall on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Around 30 people attend each night to socialise and take part in games and activities. Popular choices include bingo, quizzes, baking, arts & crafts, pool, darts and music.
If you, or someone you know, would like to come along to a club please ring Matthew on 01484 340811. There is a charge of £1.50 for the clubs.
Tuesday Keep Fit Group
Our keep fit group runs on Tuesday evenings between 6.00pm and 7.00pm at Waverley Hall. Louise Smyth is the leader of our group and does a brilliant job.
We have around twenty members, most weeks there are twelve to fifteen of us attending. We are a mixed age and ability group with some new to keep fit and others who have been keep-fitting for many years. It is a very friendly bunch of people all willing to help each other if needed.
If you would like more information about the group please ring Linda Wrigley on 01484 657652.
Thursday Shared Leisure Group
There are two Shared Leisure Groups and they meet up on alternate Thursday evenings. The groups usually meet at 6.30pm at Waverley Hall but then spend most of their time out and about doing whatever it is they have chosen to do. Some of the most popular choices are going to the pub, for meals, to go ten-pin bowling, to go to nightclubs, on train trips, to the theatre and to local events put on by all sorts of different people.
We have space for up to 10 people in each group and we don’t always stay together on trips out. Smaller groups sometimes want to go to different places and we sort out a member of staff to go with them.
At the moment the groups are open to people who might otherwise not get many chances to go out. We also take new members who have lost a service elsewhere. There is a charge of £2 for each group and people have to pay for whatever activities they choose to do.
For more information, or to find out about joining the group, you can ring me, Matthew, on 01484 340811.
