Safe Places becomes a vulnerable person scheme

How can a Safe Place help

Safe Places has successfully helped people with learning disabilities feel safer whilst travelling around Kirklees for the past two years.

Funding from Kirklees Council has this year allowed the scheme to open it’s doors to help more people. Safe Places is now for people aged over 16 who might be vulnerable when they go out. The scheme will now be able to benefit people with dementia, learning disabilities, physical disabilities and those with Autism/Asperger’s.

Samantha Jones, Safe Places Co-ordinator told us, “the scheme has always had the scope to be able to help so many more people. These are very exciting times.”

Our leaflets and application form have been updated. If anyone would like some copies, or for more information please get in touch with Samantha on 01484 340811.
